Morgan Wallen raised eyebrows after he abruptly walked off the stage at the end of Saturday Night Live where he appeared as the musical guest.

During the moment, he says something to host Mikey Madison before giving her a one-armed hug and heading for the exit as the rest of the cast stays on stage, thus skipping the traditional hugs and on-stage hang out with the cast as credits roll.

Viewers felt that something was off, especially as castmates Ego Nwodim and Kenan Thompson looked confused by his exit.

Later that night, Morgan posted on his Instagram Story a photo of a private jet and wrote, “Get me to God’s country.”

A source close to Morgan says his walking off stage was an accident.

“We’re told he entered and exited the studio the same way he did Saturday night during rehearsal and camera blocking all week leading up to the live show…so he routinely headed that way when he thought it was time to go,” TMZ reported on Sunday (March 30).

Morgan Wallen performed “I’m The Problem” and “Just in Case” for his guest stint.

During his performance, Morgan dropped some Easter eggs for fans. He sang in front of a retro-style TV set that displayed ‘MWBC – Morgan Wallen Broadcasting Corp.’ Throughout the song, the TV static intermittently gave way to new track titles.

His new album, I’m The Problem arrives on May 16.
